６０分話すのではなく「５分ネタを１２本話す」と考えて５分ネタを徹底的に磨きあげろというのが著者の方法論である。特に磨くのは「ツカミ」である。これは３分である。漫才師が最初の３分で笑わせられなかったら放送されることはないのだから、と元吉本興業らしいノウハウを話す。

「「ツカミ」のネタは、必ず台本を書いてください。文字にして、推敲してください。アドリブに任せるのはあまりにも危険です。そしてそのネタを必ず自分でビデオ撮影して、客観的にその三分で心を奪われるかどうかをチェックしてください。」

そこまでやるのか…。

講演では５つのＳが大切といい、

１　Story
２　Simple
３　Special
４　Speed
５　Smile

の５ポイントを挙げている。最後のSmileはお客さんを笑顔にするという意味である。ユーモアや笑いというのは、経営者向けの堅めの講演でも、実はかなり重要な要素だと思う。
